Countryside Criterium

Countryside Criterium

Hello! It is long time since I post anything, maybe it is time to comeback and do what I really like to do :).

Quick note about Countryside Criterium. I found it on bikereg.com few day before race I thought maybe it is good idea to try criterium I didn’t do it for whole year and I am still in Cat 5! so I sign up for Cat 4/5.

I got there at 7 picked up my number, did warmup with looking at my Garmin and got to start line at 7:55 so of course I was last. Good warmup or good position?  Your choice.

Field was really big almost 50 people. I got to front as fast as I could and was trying to stay there, we got 9 laps about 2 miles. All the time stayed in front and thought about tactic for last turn, after it there was little uphill and finish line. Luckily I was on 5th position after this turn and pass one guy almost catching 3rd but not enough watts. My mistake was started finish with to low gear which can’t allow you to put maximum power, but that is what experience gives you and cold blood 🙂
